If I connect my own phone am I still charged for the minutes?

Yes you are still charged for the time.

Even if you connect your own phone number, your account is still subject to the calling minute limits tied to your Sales Hub subscription:
  • Sales Hub Professional: 3,000 minutes per account per month
  • Sales Hub Enterprise: 12,000 minutes per account per month
