A leader in the Telecom/Cable industry recognized a process for Lead generation was cumbersome. The inefficiency was costing our client time and opportunity. Internal teams, such as Marketing, had several custom Objects containing address-related information. Sales teams were using these Objects for Lead generation. The complication started with identifying prospective business. Sales Managers would flag individual Leads and assign a Sales Rep. The Sales Rep would have to go to the custom address and copy/paste the info into the Lead Object before initiating a relationship with the prospect.
We designed and implemented a bulk-lead conversion process in the form of an app. The process consists of a Visualforce page that is used to map any custom Object to Lead Fields. This mapping is reverse of the custom Lead Map Field native to Salesforce. After the app maps these fields, the Sales Manager goes to the Lead View for the custom Address Object and, using check boxes, multi-selects the addresses from the Action List View. When the Sales Manager clicks to “convert,” the user is prompted to assign the selected Leads. The Sales Rep chosen receives an email pointing to the newly-assigned Leads.
In a tightly-competitive industry, efficiency equates to competitive advantage. With a tool to easily gather and assign bulk Lead data to a Sales Rep, our client’s Sales Department efficiency has significantly improved. The new process quickly and easily feeds the pipeline which supplies potential new business.
