ALTERNETICS first opened our doors in June of 1999 with a mission of solving sales problems with CRM. Founder Kip Smith had been in several sales leadership roles where he struggled with the task of efficiently managing a national sales team. These were large publicly traded companies, yet they still struggled. When speaking to peers, it seemed they all had the same problem. At the time, there were very few choices when it came to CRM technology. There was no Salesforce.com or Microsoft. Your options were off the shelf products like ACT!, GoldMine, Telemagic or a whole bunch of very expensive enterprise level products. Companies would purchase these products in the hopes of solving their problems only to find their problems were still there. Seeing the void, Alternetics entered the market as an implementer and optimizer of CRM software and remained very active supporting those installed products.
AS Salesforce.com and Microsoft CRM Online gained steam with their cloud delivered products, it became very apparent that there was no longer a need for someone to support installed software. A customer could simply buy the product online. The problems related to usage however were still there.
IN November of 2011, Alternetics begin shifting away from supporting a specific brand of software and began focusing on solving the problems related to sales, marketing, and customer service – regardless of the software brand. In order maintain a much larger staff of qualified experts Alternetics sought out a financial partner. In September of 2012, Bootstrap Incubation, LLC purchased an majority stake in Alternetics providing the capital and support required to grow the business on a national scale.
